It's the day after Easter and I needed to share my Easter creations! I was hoping to mimic the treats I found on pinterest: http://sweetsimplestuff.com/2013/03/26/nutter-butter-chicks/ and http://cookiesandcups.com/rice-krispie-treat-pizza/. For the Nutter Butter Chicks I started out super frustrated because I couldn't find the parts I needed for the beak and the coffee stirrers so I started to panic. First I tried orange frosting. No bueno. Next I tried a half of Reece's Pieces and it ended up looking like Bert from Sesame Street. My last resort was to look in my pantry through the many different sprinkles I had. I found a Halloween mix with these stick like sprinkles in orange, purple and black. Hmmmm....I gave it a try and I loved it!!! I started to get into it and added a little bit of a touch to them by swirling the tops to give them a curly feather look. I think the end result was pure adorableness...if that is a word. So I don't have a recipe per se, but if you follow sweet simple stuff's recipe, you can get the results you want. I also made the Rice Krispy Treat Pizza...super easy, so cute and you could totally do this for any holiday since now peeps come in so many varieties! I think I saw some Halloween ghost peeps before...use Coco Pebbles instead of Fruity Pebbles and well, you know the rest. Too cute! ~ Ames
